It’s all over for Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers. The Seattle Seahawks hosted the 49ers today for the Divisional Round matchup. Heading into the game, there was no indication of San Francisco suffering a blowout loss.
The Seahawks dominated the game from the opening minute. By the end of the first quarter, they were 17-0. Going into halftime, they had a 24-6 lead, and the 49ers were nowhere even close to getting even.
The deeper the game went, the bigger the lead became for the Seahawks. To close it off in the second half, Seattle went 17-0 and went into the game with a dominant 41-6 final score.
The 49ers got eliminated from Super Bowl contention. Seeing the 49ers’ season come to an end in such humiliating fashion didn’t sit well with fans.
“Kyle Shanahan pissed off at Renardo Green. He was really letting him hear it, after the 49ers go down 17-0,” SM Highlights posted.
“Time to fire Kyle Shanahan,” a fan wrote.
“Jed York only cares about the #1 ticket revenue at Levi’s… he doesn’t care about championships. If he did Kyle Shanahan would have been fired awhile ago… Kyle will never ever win a championship. He’s the modern day Dan Reeves… but Dan won 1 as a OC. Chokeahan is worse than Doc,” a fan wrote.
“Kyle Shanahan fired***** I hope they do because it’ll put pressure on the biggest fraud in the coaching profession. I really hope they win the championship… them or the rams so we can finally end the 30 year drought once Shanahan is fired. No chance at winning one with him,” a fan wrote.
“2023 team was loaded at every spot and didn’t win the championship because Kyle Shanahan,” a fan wrote.
“Kyle Shanahan’s team will never win a SB,” a fan wrote.
The 49ers are yet to decide on Shanahan, but if it were up to the fans, he’d have been fired by now.
Kyle Shanahan’s Run was Marred by Injuries
Shanahan’s team registered a decent regular-season record and qualified for the playoffs. In the Wild Card Round against the Philadelphia Eagles, the 49ers put up a good fight and ended up with a 23-19 win.
However, along the way, they were picking up injuries that were bound to put shackles on them. They lost George Kittle in the game against Philadelphia, and he joined the growing list of injured players.
It all came crashing down tonight against the Seahawks. With a much weaker roster than the one they started with, Shanahan and Co. couldn’t do much to avoid loss.
