If Mike Vrabel thought that gaining the support of his top players during his alleged cheating scandal with Dianna Russini would earn him some reprieve from fans, well, he probably thought wrong.
Because Drake Maye’s rousing approval of Vrabel as a boss doesn’t seem to have been echoed by fans, who continue to question the New England Patriots head coach for hiding information around his real relationship with tainted reporter Dianna Russini.
“We’re here for coach, we love coach,” were the words of Patriots QB Drake Maye, but not everyone seems to think that the approval comes from the right place.
Vrabel Faces Tougher Challenge Ahead
As bad as this phase is, it could get worse for Mike Vrabel if his team doesn’t perform this season. That’s assuming he’s still in charge of course, because the Patriots are already under pressure to do more about the incident.
Vrabel’s perceived success at building a squad at the Patriots is probably why he’s still around, but he needs to get it right on the pitch to earn some level of respect from fans and players alike.
