    Darius Slay Retirement: Former Eagles SB Winner’s Contract, Accolades, Net Worth And More Explored

    NFL cornerback Darius Slay is calling it a career. 

    The 13-year veteran announced his retirement from the league early Monday afternoon, with a post on Instagram, reflecting on his NFL career and how blessed he was to play in the NFL. 

    Slay was a 2013 second-round pick by the Detroit Lions. He played seven seasons with the Lions before joining the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2020 season and becoming a Super Bowl champion. Slay joined the Pittsburgh Steelers last year and was released on December 2. He was picked up by the Buffalo Bills but informed the team of his decision to retire.

    Darius Slay’s Contract Earnings, Accolades, Net Worth 

    Throughout his career, Darius Slay earned $132 million across 13 seasons between three teams according to spotrac.com. As of 2025, Slay has an estimated net worth of $25 million according to Celebrity Net Worth and Forbes. The number could be a little off due to it being from last year.

    Throughout his 13-year NFL career, Slay has been one of the better cornerbacks for over a decade. He was named to three-straight Pro Bowls two different times in his career from 2017-2019 and from 2021-2023. He was named First-Team All-Pro for the 2017 season.

    Slay led the league in interceptions during the 2017 season with eight and led the league in pass deflections with 26. In 2021, he scored a league-high two defensive touchdowns and had the most fumble recovery return yards with 116.

    In his career, Slay has recorded 655 tackles, 163 pass deflections, 28 interceptions, six fumble recoveries, five defensive touchdowns, and forced two fumbles.

    The highlight of Slay’s career was becoming a Super Bowl champion with the Philadelphia Eagles in his second-to-last-season in the NFL.
