Ashton Jeanty in Focus as Klint Kubiak Pledges More Recruitment in Key Raiders Position

Klint Kubiak made history this year with the Seattle Seahawks. He joined the Seahawks in January 2025 as their offensive coordinator, and a year later, his team won the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots.

Days before the Super Bowl, Kubiak accepted an offer from the Las Vegas Raiders to be their next head coach. The Raiders are desperate for a change, as their struggles continued last season as well.

They finished the season with a 3-14 record, which was tied for the worst in the league. Now, they have a new head coach who just won a Super Bowl and who possesses strategies that work in games.

When he was with the Seahawks, Kubiak had Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet deployed at the running back position. They shared the load throughout the season, and that worked in the Seahawks’ favor.

Kubiak is looking to have the same strategy with the Raiders as well. He wants to pair Ashton Jeanty with a wingman to share the load in the upcoming season. Kubiak recently spoke about it during a media interaction.

“Definitely wanna have a two-man show there. Guys that can share the load. It’s a long season, you don’t wanna put all the carries and targets on one guy,” he said.

The problem, however, is that the Raiders don’t have anyone who can join Jeanty for this role. Kubiak stated that the team is looking for players they can pick in the upcoming draft or sign someone from another team for that role.

“It is important that Jeanty has a wingman, and it’s probably not gonna be just one guy. So, that’ll be really important to identify,” he added.

Kubiak understands the position that the Raiders are in. He needs to put a lot of work in to make them a competitive unit.

Klint Kubiak is Exploring Quarterback Options

The Raiders have the number one pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. The favorite choice to be the number one draft pick is Fernando Mendoza, who played for the Indiana Hoosiers last season and won the national title with them.

Mendoza and the Raiders have been tied together for months now. However, Kubiak hasn’t closed the door on other options.

“We’re looking at all options right now,” he said, per Taylor Rocha. “Watching Geno play last year, (I’m) obviously pretty familiar with what he had done before; putting all on the table right now, trying to see every possible avenue we can go next year at quarterback, and he’s definitely one of those options.”

Even though Mendoza is expected to be the number one pick, Kubiak hasn’t locked his decision yet.
