Arch Manning has been one of the most hyped-up players in the world of college football, with analysts even projecting him to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Talking about Manning potentially landing with the Arizona Cardinals, draft analyst Jordan Reid shared that the franchise will probably eye the Texas star despite picking former Miami star Carson Beck in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

While Manning had a slow start to the season last year, Reid was able to catch three of his traits that he believes would make the Longhorns quarterback a really appealing prospect.
Reid also shared in his projections for the 2027 Draft that Manning paired with Jeremiah Love would give the Cardinals two impressive building blocks.
“The first one is pocket strength and toughness. This Florida game is the one that really sold me on him as a prospect last year in his ascension. Just look at the two hands on the ball, climbing the pocket, and throwing a dart down the field to Ryan Wingo. I really like this throw. This is one of my favorites. The mobility is a really underrated aspect about Arch. I think he does a great job of finding holes in defenses. Specifically, that last bowl game in the Cheez-It against Michigan, he was exceptional in that one. This really was the one that really clinched the game for him. But also layering the ball. A lot of times with young quarterbacks, you see they want to throw a fastball every single time. But he really understands how to get the ball up and over coverage. There’s a lot of things to like about Arch. He still has a lot of areas of improvement. But those were three traits that I found really appealing going through his tape.”
RGIII Weighs In on What Arch Manning Needs to Work on Ahead of 2027 Draft
RGIII was asked by the Athlon’s Doug Farrar about expectations from Arch Manning ahead of the 2026 college football season, to which he said he wants to see the Texas star quarterback be more decisive in his decision-making.
The former Heisman Trophy winner further said he wants Manning to be more consistent with his accuracy, as there have been times when he was seeing things as they were happening.
“So, his processing wasn’t off, but his body might not have been in the right position to make the throw consistently. I talk with the Manning brothers [Peyton and Eli] and Cooper, and they’re excited about what he’s going to bring to the table this year. I think what happened to him last year, early in the year and fighting through that, and his teammates being there with him is only going to make him a better quarterback.” RGIII said.
RGIII also highlighted that Manning has the thing Eli and Peyton Manning didn’t have, and added that he is the ability to be a modern Manning quarterback.
