Jim Harbaugh’s Former Michigan Standout Speaks Out On Connor Stalions’ Role in Sign-Stealing Scandal

Jim Harbaugh had a memorable run with the Michigan Wolverines from 2015 to 2023, including the 2023 national championship. Colston Loveland, a 6-foot-6 tight end from Washington, was one of his top recruits and played on the national title-winning campaign before being selected 10th by the Chicago Bears in the 2025 NFL draft.

Harbaugh’s Michigan tenure wasn’t devoid of controversies, including the “sign-stealing scandal.”

On “Bussin’ With The Boys” on Tuesday, Loveland, who played for Michigan during that time, talked about Connor Stalions, who was at the center of that scandal and resigned in November 2023 amid the ongoing investigation.

Loveland had great things to say about Stalions, complimenting his knack for attention to detail. Without directly mentioning the scandal, the host of the podcast said that Stalions “gets a bad rap” and that he “didn’t do nothing wrong.” Loveland agreed with that take.

“He’s a good guy,” he said.

When the host brought up Stalions’ alleged appearance at the Central Michigan game against Michigan State and asked if he was really there, Loveland said, “No, it was his brother or something probably.”

Stalions allegedly purchased tickets for more than 30 games over three years in his own name. Those tickets reportedly included five Nebraska games. When that topic was brought up on the podcast, Loveland said, “That Nebraska game didn’t matter that year, bro.”

After leaving Michigan, Stalions went on to work with Detroit Mumford High School and Belleville High School in 2024.

Analyst Predicts Jim Harbaugh’s Coaching Will Benefit the Chargers Against the Majority of Opponents

Jim Harbaugh returned to the NFL in 2024, and in two seasons, he has had the same record. Overall, Harbaugh is 22-12, going 11-6 in each season. The Chargers finished second in the AFC West both times.

According to AOL’s Vincent Bonsignore, the Chargers will have a coaching edge over most of their opponents in the 2026 season.

“Jim Harbaugh enters his third year as Chargers coach. His first two seasons resulted in postseason appearances, albeit first-round playoff exits,” he wrote. “The key now is turning regular-season success into playoff success. Clearly, though, he is among the best coaches in football and gives his team a big advantage on most game days.”

Bonsignore believes that the likes of Andy Reid, Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan will give him a run for his money.
