Yaxel Lendeborg and the 23-1 Michigan Wolverines are taking on the 17-7 UCLA Bruins in a college basketball matchup between two respected teams. The star forward was seen by many as instrumental in his team’s ability to win.
Here’s a look at whether the forward was able to live up to his penchant this season in a matchup many believed Lendeborg should have had little trouble having a distinct presence.
Yaxel Lendeborg Stats vs UCLA
Heading out of the first half, Lendeborg was ahead of pace with his 14.3 points per game average, tallying nine points after 15 minutes of playing time, per ESPN. He also recorded five rebounds in the contest, with the majority of points coming from free throws. He was also able to get on the board defensively with a block and three defensive rebounds.
Heading into the second half, his accuracy in the paint and around the floor needed to be improved to get closer to his production at the free-throw line.

Yaxel Lendeborg 2025-26 Stats
After 24 games of action in the 2025-26 season, Yaxel Lendeborg established himself as one of the biggest stars on the team. A quality free-throw shooter, Lendeborg has maintained an 84.2% free throw make rate. He has also been consistent in the general field goals with a 50.4% field goal accuracy rating.
He also hasn’t been shy defensively, getting at least one block and one steal in more contests than not. He has also impressed coaches enough to stay on the floor with an average of 28.4 minutes per game. Lendeborg is also reliable in getting extra possessions in the form of rebounds, averaging nearly four rebounds per half.
If Lendeborg can boost his average points per game closer to 20 while keeping his percentages in shape, the forward could become quite a force to contend with.
