Former Kentucky Wildcats player Kerr Kriisa has found himself in major trouble. After it became public that the FBI was investigating him, the full extent of charges against him have now been revealed, and it shows the seriousness of the alleged crimes committed.
According to the indictment, federal prosecutors claim that Kriisa ran an online fraud scheme totaling $2.2 Million, which began in 2022, when he was playing at Arizona, creating fake personas and cheating people by devising lies and luring them into sending him money.
The indictment go to the extent of saying that he even posed as his mother, asking for money to pay for her alleged cancer treatment, among other claims. Reports now suggest that the charges being associated with Kriisa could land him in prison for as long as 60 years if convicted.
Where Did Kerr Kriisa Play His College Basketball?
Kerr Kriisa spent a significant chunk of his playing time in the United States of America despite being born in Estonia, moving to the USA in 2020 after he was scouted by the Arizona Wildcats after impressing in the EuroLeague.
After spending time in Arizona till 2023, he moved to West Virginia for a season before finding himself at the Kentucky Wildcats in 2024. Despite running out for the Lexington outfit, he moved on again the following year, joining the Cincinnati Bearcats. It now appears that during his time playing he was allegedly also involved in criminal activity, which has the potential to land him in significant trouble with the American law.
