Who is Pat Kelsey’s Wife? All You Need To Know About Louisville Coach’s Life Partner

Pat Kelsey joined the Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball program as a head coach in 2024. Kelsey started his coaching journey in 1998, immediately after his playing career ended with the Xavier Musketeers.

Initially, he worked with Elder HS as an assistant, and after nearly a decade, he landed his first head coaching role in 2012 with the Winthrop Eagles. He had a decade-long run with the Eagles, then he joined the Charleston Cougars.

In his three years at Charleston, he went 75-27 overall and 39-15 in the conference. Kelsey led the Cougars to two NCAA Division I Round of 64. Now at Louisville, his team has made it to the second round, where they’re playing the Michigan State Spartans.

Outside of basketball, Kelsey enjoys a peaceful life with his wife, Lisa. There’s little to no information available on their life together, including when they first met, because they like to keep their personal life private.

What we do know, however, is that Pat and Lisa have three kids together. Lisa has an Instagram account with her husband and three kids as her profile picture, but she keeps the account private as well. The Kelsey family was seen together at a Louisville event in 2024.

Pat deals with a lot of attention, and his name is often a part of discussions in the media. So, when he’s not on duty with the Cardinals, he is off the radar and in the presence of the people who matter the most to him.

Pat Kelsey Reflected on His Coaching Journey

This is Kelsey’s second season with the Cardinals. In the first season, he went 27-8 overall and 18-2 in the conference. Louisville made it to the NCAA Division I Round of 64, but that was the end of their campaign.

This year, the Cardinals went 24-10 overall, including 11-7 in the conference, and they’ve made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Overall, Kelsey boasts an impressive 51-18 record.

During a recent media interaction, Kelsey was asked if there was a particular win that stands out for him.

“Not really,” he said. “I can’t really look back at my career and be like that was the win. I always treated my current job like my next job.”

Kelsey said that he has a chip on his shoulder and he always wants to prove himself. He believes that the attitude makes him a good coach as he’s never satisfied with any result and is always looking to do more.
