“My Parents Eavesdrop”: Milan Momcilovic Gives Honest Account of Kentucky Call That Sealed $6,000,000 Commitment

Milan Momcilovic secured a huge $6 million commitment to Kentucky after withdrawing from the NBA draft earlier this year, and has now gone even more into detail about the call that sealed the move for the big man.

Momcilovic told the Big Blue Nation (BBN) about a call he took in his driveway that made it clear to him that Kentucky was his destination.

“When I committed to Kentucky, I was on my driveway. I don’t like talking in the house because my parents eavesdrop, so I went to the driveway while coach was on the beach and let him know I was coming. The rest is history.”

Momcilovic explained further about how things come to fruition between the Kentucky Wildcats and himself.

“I knew Kentucky was where I wanted to play kind of early in the process,” Momcilovic said. “I feel like I just kind of had a gut feeling that Coach Pope’s offense and his system was kind of built for me. He told me that if there was one guy in the world to play for his system, it was me. So I kind of took that and I felt like it was a perfect situation for me to come. “My why this year is to get deep in the tournament. I’ve had three tournament games where I haven’t had the best games, and we lost all three, so I want to get deep in the tournament and play well in those games.”

What Milan Momcilovic Adds to Mark Pope’s Kentucky Lineup

Milan Momcilovic was undoubtedly the biggest move of the summer for Mark Pope and for good reason. The Iowa State transfer brings size, presence and a shooting ability few can match across NCAA basketball.

His ability to score three pointers at clutch moments adds to his strengths, and with the likes of Malachi Moreno returning and young Ryan Hampton adding depth to the Kentucky ranks, this might just be the year that the Wildcats make a run to the end of the NCAA tournament and to the top of the SEC standings.
