Fernando Mendoza recently concluded what would be a dream season for every quarterback in college football. He won numerous individual honors, including the coveted Heisman Trophy, and led an undefeated Indiana Hoosiers to the national title.
Mendoza also won the CFP National Championship Game Offensive MVP and had one of his best performances of the season in the final game against the Miami Hurricanes. The quarterback has since been on a victory lap.
He has made some notable public appearances, including his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Hoosiers beat writer Daniel Flick recently reported that Mendoza was on a Zoom call where he talked about addiction. Mendoza’s addiction is one that every athlete dreams of.
“Fernando Mendoza on Zoom, said it’s been a “whirlwind” since IU landed after winning the CFP National Championship. Also, now that he’s had a taste of success, said he’s “addicted” to it,” Flick posted.
“Better get to rehab ASAP,” a fan wrote.
“The fan in the background makes Mendoza look like a master of deception with devil horns. Is that what the raiders are getting at qb a devil?” a fan wrote.
“Raiders are about to help an addict quit cold turkey. What a caring organization,” a fan wrote.
“Kids about to have serious withdrawals when the Raiders pick him. Hope he’s got a stash hidden somewhere,” a fan wrote.
“this dude better have thick skin cuz that all changes after he walks that stage. He better get addicted to adversity,” a fan wrote.
“The Raiders are an alcohol anonymous club without the anonymity. Worst is that they put their members through cold turkey to quit,” a fan wrote.
While Mendoza is proud of his addiction to winning, fans believe that if the Raiders end up drafting him, he’ll no longer enjoy being addicted.
Fernando Mendoza Has No Time for Distraction
Mendoza’s popularity has brought a lot of attention to his personal life. Fans have been wondering whether he has a love life, who his girlfriend is, and when they started dating. The truth is, Mendoza is single, and he’d be like this for a while.
During a conversation with TONYBANDZ on Instagram, Mendoza talked about why he stays away from girls. He understands that he only has a few years to make his mark in football, which is why he keeps his distance from every possible distraction.
“With the girls, it can be very distracting,” Mendoza said. “You might find your ‘first love’ in college, but I know that if I finish class at 6, I’m gonna give my everything, my all [to practice]. So, if I have a girlfriend, I’m gonna give her my all.”
Mendoza said that he is completely focused on football right now and has no time for anything else in his life, including having a love life and going out for parties.
