This year’s WNBA Draft is considered stacked and could be one of the better draft classes in the history of the league, with a mix of college basketball stars and international talent. On April 13, the WNBA is set to hold its 2026 draft, as players from different backgrounds head in to hopefully get selected and join the league as it continues to expand with new teams.
The Dallas Wings, now coached by Jose Fernandez, have the first overall pick this year, similar to last season. The Dallas-based franchise has a big decision coming up, as they can either select a unique prospect in Spanish center Awa Fam or pair their star, Paige Bueckers, with her girlfriend and former teammate, Azzi Fudd.
Nevertheless, let’s look at the top 10 prospects ahead of the 2026 WNBA Draft.
Top 10 Prospects Ranked Ahead of the 2026 WNBA Draft
#10 Ta’Niya Latson
At No. 10, we have South Carolina Gamecocks guard Ta’Niya Latson, and she may go to the Indiana Fever. Latson can be an interesting prospect for the Fever as a slashing wing to pair alongside Indiana stars Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston, assuming she can develop a better jump shot with them.
#9 Gianna Kneepkens
The Washington Mystics’ next draft pick comes with their ninth selection, and it will most likely be UCLA Bruins guard Gianna Kneepkens. This is because the Mystics are projected to select UCLA center Lauren Betts, so Kneepkens can be one of the team’s backcourt pieces of the future, with her teammate in the fray and as a sharpshooter.
#8 Raven Johnson
For a team that joined the WNBA in the 2025 season, the Golden State Valkyries quickly need a needle-mover, with more teams joining the league. With this, they can select South Carolina Gamecocks veteran Raven Johnson, a proven facilitator on the big stage with national titles in college.
#7 Kiki Rice
With Nell Angloma projected to be selected by the Toronto Tempo with the sixth overall pick, UCLA Bruins standout Kiki Rice will most likely drop to the Portland Fire with the seventh selection. The Fire, as one of the 2026 expansion teams, will want to have the best talent available at this point in the draft.
#6 Nell Angloma
The Toronto Tempo is one of the upcoming expansion teams that will join the WNBA this year, and they are likely looking to make a splash with their first-round pick. They can go the route of taking French prospect Nell Angloma. While risky, her untapped potential can set the Tempo for success in just its first season.
#5 Flau’jae Johnson
It is more than likely that the Chicago Sky will go with LSU Tigers guard Flau’jae Johnson with the fifth pick for the sole reason that she can reunite with her 2023 national championship running mate, Angel Reese. They can form a formidable one-two tandem once again.
#4 Lauren Betts
While her long-time teammate, Kiki Rice, can fill a void that the Washington Mystics, who own this pick, need on their roster, UCLA Bruins stalwart Lauren Betts is too good a prospect to pass. Her versatility as a center in the modern era can help propel the Mystics to new heights for the foreseeable future.
#3 Olivia Miles
TCU Horned Frogs guard Olivia Miles has significantly improved her draft stock in her lone year at TCU. It seems as though extending her college career with a different program after four years with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish has helped her be projected as the third pick to the Seattle Storm.
#2 Azzi Fudd
If the Dallas Wings decide that they’ll take a chance at Awa Fam as their stalwart of the future, UConn Huskies star Azzi Fudd will more than likely drop to the second pick by the Minnesota Lynx.
#1 Awa Fam
The Dallas Wings hold the first overall pick again and can either pick Azzi Fudd or take a gamble at Spanish sensation Awa Fam. In recent times, Fam has been considered a unicorn-type prospect due to her skillset.
