The South Carolina Gamecocks are ready to bring sportswear giant Nike onto their school threads, with their deal now being executed. Last year, the Gamecocks announced they would enter into a new deal with Nike after their 19-year partnership with Under Armour came to a close in June. Now, Nike is making its way into the program, as seen in various social media posts, on the first day of July.
Among those who can’t contain their excitement about the brand coming to the school is Khadijah Sessions, one of head coach Dawn Staley’s assistant coaches. Sessions tweeted about her excitement. The deal includes apparel and sneakers, both on and off the court, and Nike branding all throughout.
Sessions has been a member of coach Staley’s coaching staff since the 2023-24 national title campaign. She played for South Carolina from 2013 to 2016 before becoming a coach after she retired from playing.
The Gamecocks, equipped with new gear from Nike, are aiming to win the 2027 NCAA title after losing in the 2026 national championship game.

As more social posts roll in showing Nike is fully embracing the University of South Carolina, a video posted on X/Twitter shows Dawn Staley teasing an unreleased colorway of the Nike SB Dunk Low. It hasn’t been announced if the pair is Staley’s signature colorway to be released to the public, but it has garnered attention from onlookers online. The colorway sports a Tiffany blue upper with black and yellow accents, finished off by a red outsole.
It is worth noting that one of the greatest Gamecocks of all time, Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson, was instrumental in the deal since she is a Nike athlete. Wilson already has two signature Nike shoes, which will likely be worn by several Gamecocks this year.
Nike’s deal with South Carolina is set to last until 2036 and includes all of the school’s 21 athletic programs, such as football and men’s basketball.
