USC Trojans guard Jazzy Davidson just received the trophy for one of the prestigious honors she won in the recently concluded season, as she posed with an NBA legend.
On Thursday, Davidson was featured in a post by the official Trojans social media team on Instagram, wherein the young talent was seen posing with her USBWA Freshman of the Year award.
Davidson received the said award in St. Louis, Missouri. The first photo of the upload shows the Clackamas, Oregon, native holding the award while smiling at the camera. Davidson is captured wearing a black top underneath a black blazer, a pair of denim pants, which are complemented by her gold accessories in her earrings and bracelet.
The next photo by @uscwbb shows Davidson posing with five-time NBA champion Magic Johnson, who seemingly accompanied Davidson in receiving the trophy. The former Los Angeles Lakers superstar is seen wearing a navy blue suit with a white shirt, along with a multi-colored tie. Johnson is then seen holding a basketball while smiling with Davidson for a photo.

It seems as though Johnson is continuing his support towards the next generation of great basketball players, especially the ones coming from the city of Los Angeles. After all, the former Lakers guard’s status is already cemented in the city as one of the greatest basketball players to have ever played there. With this, Davidson is likely vying to reach the same status when all is said and done.
Davidson is coming off the 2025-26 campaign in which she brought the Trojans all the way to the second round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament as a first-year standout.
Jazzy Davidson Joins Teammate JuJu Watkins As The Only USC Trojans To Win All Major Freshman Nods
Along with the USBWA Freshman of the Year award, Jazzy Davidson also won other major freshman awards in women’s college basketball, such as the WBCA NCAA Division I Freshman of the Year and the National Freshman of the Year.
In USC Trojans history, only one other player has done this, which is Davidson’s teammate, JuJu Watkins. Watkins was injured for the entirety of last season and is set for a comeback next year.
