LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson Expresses Gratitude After Special Honor at the WNBA Draft

At the WNBA Draft on Monday night, Flau’jae Johnson was honored, as she made the song for the official draft video.

“WOAH! About to get drafted, and I made the song of the draft!!!? God is amazing,” Flau’jae posted.

Flau’jae has been one of the best and brightest talents in women’s college basketball ever since her debut in 2022. She helped LSU win the first national championship in its history, and from there on, it was only upwards for Flau’jae. The LSU star had already solidified herself as the starter for Kim Mulkey’s side.

Apart from basketball, Flau’jae Johnson has also made a huge mark on the hip-hop culture. She became a rapper, taking inspiration from her late father, Camouflage, who was a respected rapper in his community and inspired people with his beliefs.

Flau’jae first appeared on the show “America’s Got Talent.” She became the first rapper to receive the Golden Buzzer on the show. She has now collaborated with Lil Wayne and signed with Jay-Z’s label, Roc Nation Deal. However, this has never distracted her from her dedication as a basketball player.

LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson was set to team up with Caitlin Clark’s former teammate Kate Martin at the Golden State Valkyries. She was projected to go to the Chicago Sky at No. 5 at the WNBA Draft. Golden State drafted her at No. 8. However, the Seattle Storm has acquired the draft rights for Flau’jae Johnson.

LSU star will join fellow rookie Awa Fam from Spain, who was drafted as the No. 3 pick. She is set to team up with Zia Cooke, Katie Lou Samuelson, and more in Seattle. As per the trade, Valkyries have welcomed Marta Suarez, who was picked 16th by the Storm. With Awa Fam and Flau’jae Johnson in the first round of the WNBA Draft, the Storm has itself a very promising duo.
