LSU Tigers guard Flau’jae Johnson seemingly stole the show in this year’s WNBA Draft with the kind of unique and chic outfit she went with when she entered the milestone event in her career.
Johnson was one of the players who were invited by the league to attend the 2026 draft that was held in The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City on Monday.
As she entered the star-studded night, Johnson bedazzled the crowd with her head-to-toe black dress. Uniquely layered and crafted, the Savannah, Georgia, native’s dress is said to be made of velvet. To give the outfit more of a pop, Johnson wore a pair of shiny diamond drop earrings and carried a diamond-embezzled purse.
“Now that’s how you make an entrance 🤭 Flau’jae Johnson has left us speechless on the Orange Carpet presented by @Coach! #WNBADraft presented by State Street Investment Management SPY,” @wnba on Instagram captioned.
Johnson is fresh off the recently concluded 2025-26 campaign, in which she played her fourth and final year of college hoops under the tutelage of coach Kim Mulkey and the Louisiana-based program. In the said season, Johnson and company were eliminated from the national tournament in the Sweet 16 by the Duke Blue Devils. Johnson did win it all back in 2023 during her freshman stint.
Flau’jae Johnson Gave A Preview Of What To Expect For Her Draft Night Outfit
In a video uploaded by women’s sports reporter Pepper Persley on her Instagram page on Saturday, Flau’jae Johnson was seen at a pre-draft press conference. The said video shows Persely asking Johnson if she can give a quick preview of what she will be wearing for the 2026 WNBA Draft.
For Johnson, she confirmed that it was still being worked on, but did share what kind of vibe to expect from the outfit.
“ It is, it’s coming. You know what I’m saying? It’s coming. This is a work-in-progress. This is a wait until you get to the night, and then you know what you’re actually gonna wear on the day. So, what’s today? Saturday. I’ll have a button-down, for sure, of what I’m gonna wear. I’m picking between two dresses, so I’m kind of nervous. So I’m excited like it’s beautiful. It’s like elegant, like, it’s nice, you know,” Johnson said.
“It’s like I told him, I told my stylist, I was like, ‘You know, this is what I want my dress to look like, like the draft is at six and the Met Gala is at 6:30. That’s the kind of vibe that I’m going for,” she concluded.
