“Made Eye Contact With Me”: UCLA Star Lauren Betts Couldn’t Contain Excitement After Special Moment With $1.4B Worth NBA Star

Last Sunday was an emotional day for Lauren Betts and the UCLA Bruins because they just won the national championship with a dominant win over South Carolina. The star center, who could go early in the WNBA draft, was emotional because of her interaction with LeBron James, whose net worth is $1.4 billion according to Forbes. She even recorded her reaction to seeing the LA Lakers star.

“Guys, guys, guys, guys, LeBron made eye contact with me! LeBron James!” Lauren Betts said.

Betts was definitely starstruck when she saw the basketball superstar. While James is a supporter of the Arizona Wildcats these days, he has often showed support for college basketball in general, including women’s basketball. His youngest son, Bryce James, is currently a redshirt freshman at Arizona, which made it to the Final Four of the men’s tournament but was eliminated by eventual champs Michigan.

The star center, considered one of the most dominant in college basketball, led the Bruins to their first NCAA National Championship in the March Madness era, or the era where women’s basketball is considered to be a Division I sport by the NCAA. It had been an emotional moment, as every senior player from the team contributed for the victory.

As for what is next for her, she is projected to enter the WNBA draft this year, with her highest projection being the No. 1 overall pick, but she could go as low as somewhere around the Top 5.

Lauren Betts Reveals Which WNBA Team She Wants To Play For

Being an incoming rookie for the WNBA draft, Lauren Betts does not really have any control on where she could go. She might not even end up on a team she wants to play in, such as what happened with Ace Bailey during last year’s NBA draft and the entire drama it generated. However, the star center has been very honest on where she wants to go and she has an actual chance to get it.

“I will love you when you get to the Lynx,” a fan told Betts.

    “I’d love that,” she replied.

The Lynx currently have the No. 2 pick thanks to a trade with the Chicago Sky. This means that she has a real chance of getting to a team that she wants to go.
