Caitlin Clark remains a massive part of the conversation surrounding the Iowa Hawkeyes years after her departure. She is fondly remembered by Iowa fans and maintains good relationships with most of her former teammates.
During the Indiana Fever vs. Washington Mystics game on Friday, Clark scored a clutch 3-pointer to force overtime. Her shot got many talking, including former Hawkeyes teammate Jada Gyamfi.
The official Indiana Fever Instagram page shared a clip of Clark’s shot, and Gyamfi reshared it, adding a comment praising her former teammate.
“She Is out of Her Mind,” wrote Gyamfi.

The shot got many over at Indianapolis going wild, but it was ultimately for naught as the Mystics escaped with a two-point road win on overtime. This also had the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball page reacting to the clutch three.
“OKAYYY 🔥👏”

However, it was a massive effort for Caitlin Clark who tallied 32 points, four rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block for the night. Kelsey Mitchell added 24 points and one steal in that losing effort, while Aaliyah Boston had nine points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Sonia Citron led the Mystics to victory with 30 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Kiki Iriafen added a double-double, 25 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
Caitlin Clark Talks About Indiana Fever’s Latest Struggles
After that loss, the Indiana Fever have now fallen to a 1-2 record, with the team still failing to find its groove this season. Clark would soon address these difficulties during the postgame.
“We’ve been letting [making shots] dictate how well we played defense too much,” Clark said. “Which is disappointing for us as a group. When things aren’t going well, we’ve still got to be able to defend and find ways to get stops.”
The team lost their opener against the Dallas Wings before beating the Los Angeles Sparks. For their third game, they lost again, this time to Washington. All of which were blamed on the Fever’s lackluster defense, with the team allowing the Wings to score 107 points during their opener.
