A top-10 list in women’s basketball and it is not led by Geno Auriemma’s UConn or Dawn Staley’s South Carolina… that’s super rare. But that is where we are right now in women’s college basketball. There are a lot of talented teams that are playing at their highest level.
Iowa State is doing well with the partnership of Audi Crooks and Jada Williams. While Crooks started the season as arguably the best player in women’s basketball with some utterly dominant displays, Williams has also shown her class. Another team that is outplaying its expectations is the Iowa Hawkeyes.
After Caitlin Clark, the Hawkeyes’ future to remain on top seemed bleak. Even Lucy Olsen’s addition did not propel them to a successful season. However, this year, the Iowa Hawkeyes are on a brilliant run. They are 18-2 and have shown discipline on the court.
Both UConn and South Carolina have also been at their usual best, along with Vanderbilt, UCLA, Tennessee, LSU, and Texas. So many teams are doing well this season, but sometimes, fan support and viewership are not necessarily based on form.
The list of most-watched women’s college basketball teams stands –
- Iowa State Cyclones
- Iowa Hawkeyes
- USC Trojans
- Notre Dame Fighting Irish
- Oklahoma State Cowgirls
- Maryland Terrapins
- Michigan Wolverines
- Texas Longhorns
- South Carolina Gamecocks
- Baylor Bears
Fans React to Top 10 Most-Watched Women’s College Basketball Teams
Fans online were surprised to see some of the major teams miss out on the rankings. However, they made sure to celebrate the teams that were on the list.
“Hawkeyes are must-watch TV,” one fan claimed.
“Lol UConn always!!!” one fan showed support for the Huskies.
“I don’t believe this at all hahahahaha,” one fan laughed in disbelief.
“I’m surprised there’s no UConn on this list. Go Hawks tho,” another expressed.
“No way Iowa St is more watched than Iowa,” one fan wondered.
“Shocking, without Addy Brown, Clones are not very good,” another said.
