Flau’Jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams on LSU’s defeat to South Carolina

LSU’s latest outing was a defeat to the South Carolina Gamecocks of Dawn Staley, their nemesis over the last few years. For Flau’Jae Johnson, the 79-72 defeat to South Carolina is something from which the Lady Tigers need to learn.

After the game, she told the press:

“We have a pretty spirited group. We have another tough game coming up. Coach Saban said, never waste a failure, so we are definitely going to learn and grow from it,” said Flau´Jae.

For Mikayla Williams, the Tigers need to stop procrastinating during the first half of their game:

“We just have to look in the mirror and stop dropping this close game, doing what we need to do so that it doesn’t come up to the last two free throws of the game. We have to do more in the first half so that we don’t have to do that much at the end,” said Mikaylah Williams

Things are far from alarming at Baton Rouge, with LSU still fifth in the SEC’s standings. In any case, all 16 teams in the conference make the tournament later on this year.
