On Sunday, Feb. 23, Jamie Shaw took to his X/Twitter to share a report on Staley, which was then followed by a repost of the upload that tackles Staley and Auriemma’s respective records in the last five seasons.

As it stands, according to Shaw, Staley now possesses a 170-9 record after her and South Carolina’s most recent 2025-26 regular season victory. This also goes includes the Gamecocks making it into the Final Four in each of the last five years and having won it all twice. This is in comparison to UConn’s Auriemma, who currently has a record of 160-22 with only four Final Four appearances and one national title.

As mentioned, Shaw’s recent post also reposts a prior report he made on the same platform wherein Shaw pointed out that Staley recently notched win No. 674 in her storied career as the head coach of the Gamecocks, to go along with another SEC regular season championship. The report then mentions that while Auriemma has the better resume, Staley might be better nowadays.

Staley is currently in her 18th year with the South Carolina-based program, having been there since 2008. The Gamecocks are looking to win their third national title in the last six seasons in the current campaign, as they lost in the 2025 national championship game to Auriemma and the Huskies by 23 points, 82-59. For Auriemma and Co., they are aiming for back-to-back national titles.
