Did Drake Namedrop Caitlin Clark on New “Iceman” Album? Viral Claim Debunked

Drake was scheduled to release his new album on Friday, May 15. Instead, he decided to surprise his fanbase by dropping three new projects on the same day: Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour. A day before the release of his albums, one of Drake’s songs reportedly leaked. The track had some shots for LeBron James. And now, Caitlin Clark is rumored to be another basketball mention in the album.

In a viral X post, a user claimed that the 5-time Grammy-winning artist mentioned Clark in one of the songs on his album. The user even shared the lyrics of the song and wrote:

“She turn a logo to a layup line, that’s free eats, sea of people watchin’ C, hit from deep 3.”

Even though the lyrics make sense, the claim in the post is false, as no song from Drake’s three albums has those lines. Drake’s album did feature the track that had shots at James, even though under a different name. Earlier, the song was rumored to be named ‘1am in Albany,’ but the lines on James were in a song named ‘Make Them Remember.”

Interestingly, the music artist named one of the songs on Habibti as ‘WNBA,’ but it did not contain direct references to any WNBA player. He just compared his partner’s life to a player who is constantly traveling and stays busy.

Drake releases WNBA track in his new album trio

Drake caught the attention of the WNBA world after he dropped a song in his album, Habibti, that was directly named ‘WNBA.’ However, it did contain some basketball references, as in one of the lines he said:

Retire your number, go out with a bang, damn
What she gon’ do for a ring? Damn

Moreover, the track has gained popularity among fans, as many praised the hip-hop artist’s skills, references, and storytelling. Even though WNBA players’ names have yet to feature in his songs, Drake’s relationship with LeBron James has completely turned around after the release of his albums.

Several analysts and fellow NBA players have expressed their disappointment at seeing Drake dissing his long-term friend James on his track. The two celebrities have often linked up earlier and have supported each other’s struggles.
