The WNBA All-Star Game is just around the corner, and in shocking news, popular Indiana Fever photographer Bri Lewerke has been denied the credentials for the main event. The talented camera professional has contributed a lot to putting out the best frames from big games. That’s why many WNBA fans were dejected to learn and had varied reactions to the news.
The popular photographer, who has more than 85k followers on Instagram, shared the news on her story, as she posted some of her favorite snaps from last season. In the first one, she wrote:
“Didn’t get a credential for WNBA All-Star this year
Here’s my favorite capture from last year lol”
A user shared the story on X, inviting other fans to share their reactions to the news. One fan was disappointed and suggested that it might be “intentional”:
“Hard to believe this isn’t intentional.”
Several fans connected the incident to Lewerke’s affiliation with Caitlin Clark and the Fever. There has been a lot of talk lately about the league not doing enough to protect the Fever superstar. This would only add fuel to those conversations on social media.
The Fever go into the All-Star break with an important win
The Fever has been criticized this season for lacking consistency, especially on the offensive end, with three elite shooters/stars in the starting lineup. However, going into the WNBA All-Star break, the team has shown why it has the most All-Stars in the league.
After what can only be described as a tumultuous start to the season, the Fever registered their third consecutive win on Wednesday, 128-88, against the Connecticut Sun. Caitlin Clark led the offense with a 27-point, 11-assist double-double, her sixth of the season, with Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston scoring 23 and 22 points.
As the season progresses, the Fever are looking better with every game, and their offense looks more synchronized. Head coach Stephanie White was heavily criticized initially for her inability to capitalize on Clark’s ball-handling and shooting skills. However, she looks more comfortable now, as the Fever superstar seems to have identified her space on the team.
