Caitlin Clark has landed in hot water after footage of her walking out with Morgan Wallen during his concert surfaced on the internet. The two-time Grammy-nominated artist has a controversial past, which includes the alleged use of racial slurs and an arrest for hurling chairs from the rooftop of a bar.
On Flagrant and Funny with Cari Champion and Jemele Hill, the podcasters talked about Clark’s decision to be publicly seen with Wallen. Champion compared Clark’s situation to Angel Reese’s association with music artist Chris Brown, another controversial figure. Hill, meanwhile, said this situation was quite common:
“Everybody has a problematic favorite, as I call them, and yes, that’s why I said I don’t know if people wanna play this game of getting into policing people’s entertainment cause I promise you everybody’s a hypocrite. No one is going to hold up to the purity test that a lot of people want to employ on others.”
While the panelists backed the Indiana Fever guard, former ESPN journalist Sarah Spain didn’t agree with them. She expressed her discontent and wrote:
“Can’t align with you on this one – she’s not just listening to his music, she’s giving him an endorsement walking out on stage with him. Him throwing around the N word – HARD R – should be a deal breaker. Thats not “problematic,” that’s racist.”

Caitlin Clark has not commented on the matter.
Former Philly radio host claims Caitlin Clark is “not the best player”
Caitlin Clark has caught flak from several analysts, including Tyrone Johnson, the former co-host of The Craig Carton Show, who criticized the Fever superstar for associating with Morgan Wallen.
He said:
“She is not the best player in the WNBA, she is not even the best guard in the WNBA, she is not even the best from her college class cause that’s Paige Bueckers, who plays for Dallas, who beat them in the season opener… She decided to roll up with Morgan Wallen. Morgan Wallen says the N-word liberally, says it more than I do and I am black.”
Johnson compared the Fever guard to former NBA sensation Jeremy Lin and added that associating with such celebrities could be detrimental to her career. He also claimed that fans won’t look back at her the way they look at Michael Jordan.
