‘She Shouldn’t Complain’: Analyst Sends Blunt Warning to Caitlin Clark Amid Looming Potential Suspension

Caitlin Clark is facing a potential suspension after picking up a sixth technical foul during Saturday’s 108-88 victory over the New York Liberty. She’s just two fouls away from an automatic one-game suspension.

During a media interaction, Clark said that she won’t change her approach to avoid the possible suspension. The Athletic’s James Boyd commented on the video on X, adding his two cents to the discussion.

“It’s admirable that #Fever star Caitlin Clark won’t change how she displays her emotions/frustrations in games,” Boyd wrote. “But at the same time, if/when she gets suspended, she shouldn’t complain. She already knows the consequences and how that could affect/hurt her team.”

The Indiana Fever struggled in the beginning of the season. However, they’ve recovered from the early setback, going on a 7-3 run in their last 10 games. Overall, they’re sixth in the league with a 16-10 record, tied with the Dream.

Caitlin Clark has played a huge role in this turnaround. In the last 10 games, she has averaged 21.2 points, 7.7 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting over 45% from the field.

If Clark gets the one-game suspension, it could affect their current run. As per Boyd, the superstar playing the game her way is admirable, but if it leads to a suspension and her team’s struggle, then she shouldn’t complain about the game.

Clark’s recent run includes a record-breaking and career-high 45-point outing against the Seattle Storm. Along with the 45 points, she also had 10 assists, two rebounds, four steals, and two blocks while shooting over 61% from the field and 60% from the three-point range.

With that performance, she also secured a franchise record and became the first player in WNBA history to record at least 40 points and 10 assists in the same game.

Fever Coach Will Talk to Caitlin Clark About Her Technical Fouls

Losing the team’s star player, even for one game, could derail the Indiana Fever’s momentum. After the last game, head coach Stephanie White said that she will talk to Clark about it.

“I didn’t ask for an explanation. I think there was a reaction probably after a call or a no-call. I don’t remember exactly at that moment,” she said. “But yeah, I mean certainly there are conversations, you know, and there have to be conversations.”

White said that they have important games ahead and she wants her players to be strategic with how they use their technical fouls.
