Caitlin Clark has been one of the most talked about WNBA players ever since her debut in the league. This season as well, there has been a lot of attention towards the Indiana Fever star. It has been a speculation filled season so far for the Fever. From arguments with coach Stephanie White, injury struggles to issues with the referees, Clark has been involved in every major part of her team’s season.
Recently, Clark received her sixth technical foul of the season vs the New York Liberty on Sunday, July 19. During the media availability, Clark shared what happened when she got her last technical foul.
“I just yelled at him to call it. Obviously, it was a pretty quick technical but, whatever,” Clark said.
The reporter asked if she thinks that she needs to change how she approaches the refs. Clark answered no. The Fever star is just 2 games away from a one-game suspension. As per WNBA rules, a player has to face a one-game suspension after the 8th technical foul. There’s also additional one-game suspension for every two after that
She is currently tied with Kahlea Cooper from the Phoenix Mercury for second most technical fouls with 6 fouls. Angel Reese has the most fouls in this season (7).
Caitlin Clark’s Fever get the better of the New York Liberty
The Fever won 108-88 vs the Liberty on July 19. Still under minutes restriction, Clark played 26 minutes and scored 17 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists. Kelsey Mitchell had another high scoring night with 33 points. Aliyah Boston contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
Sophie Cunningham and Tyasha Harris had 11 points each. For the Liberty, Breanna Stewart scored 26 points with 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Jonquel Jones had 13 points and 6 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu and Marine Johannes had 12 points each.
