The FIFA World Cup has come to a conclusion. Spain and Argentina clashed in the Final on July 19. Spain emerged victorious with a goal from Ferran Torres in the 106th minute. The game ended 1-0 as Spain absolutely dominated the proceedings. One of the greatest players of all time, Lionel Messi had a quiet game and wasn’t able to make his mark on the final.
Many considered the final to be absolutely one sided. One of them was Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever star was asked what she felt about the Soccer World Cup final. She had a one word response.
“Boring,” Clark said.
Despite only one goal, the game was pretty one sided. Spain dominated the possession 68-32 and completed 803 passes as opposed to Argentina’s 445. Spain had 20 shots (11 on target) meanwhile Argentina only had 3 (0 on target).
Caitlin Clark gives Kelsey Mitchell her flowers
The reporter asked Clark about yet another high scoring game from Fever teammate Kelsey Mitchell and what she thinks about that. Clark smirked in between the question and answered that Mitchell is someone who puts her head down and just puts in the work.
“Now she’s able to play the best basketball of her career and do it in front of a lot of people. And I feel like everybody across the league knows how talent she talented she is. And as her teammate, it makes it really fun to get to watch it up close every single day. She makes the game of basketball look really easy a lot of the times. And she obviously makes our lives a lot easier, too, when she’s able to perform like that and do it in such a consistent manner,” Clark said (1:39).
Caitlin Clark called Mitchell humble and softspoken but a very serious player during a game.
