Gabby Williams is one of the biggest names available in WNBA free agency. The American-French forward has been a part of the Seattle Storm since 2022, but might not return to the team. WNBA reporter Roberta Rodriguez shared an update about Williams’ future in the league.
The insider wrote:
“Gabby Williams is expected to leave the Seattle Storm, multiple sources have told me.”
While several WNBA teams might offer Williams a deal, here are three potential destinations:
Where can Gabby Williams land next?
Even though Gabby Williams is not a volume scorer, she impacts the game in several other ways. In 2025, she averaged 11.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.3 steals per game, and drove the team’s defense.
She has also evolved her offense with time, improving her field-goal percentage and experiencing a consistent surge in 3-point shooting. This will make her an even more valuable addition to any team in the league.
#1. Dallas Wings
The Dallas Wings landed the franchise face in Paige Bueckers last offseason. With another top pick this year, the team might look to add a frontcourt player like Lauren Betts or Awa Fam. Myisha Hines-Allen was the only major rebounder on the team last season, averaging six rebounds in 40 games.
However, bringing someone like Gabby Williams would seriously strengthen their frontcourt. Meanwhile, if they land someone like Fam in the draft, Bueckers will have all the help she needs on the boards.
#2. Minnesota Lynx
The Lynx were heavily rumored to land Nneka Ogwumike, but the forward has announced her return to the LA Sparks. After securing Napheesa Collier through a core offer and losing Bridget Carleton to the Portland Fire in the expansion draft, the Lynx might look to add a frontcourt player, and Williams fits the bill.
#3. New York Liberty
New York’s focus in the offseason could be completely different, as they look to keep their championship core intact. With Sabrina Ionescu already secured with a core offer, and Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones expected to return, the team has to find a replacement for Nyara Sabally.
Nyara was picked by the Toronto Tempo in the expansion draft, and Gabby Williams could fill the void left by her exit.
