“There’s Personal Attacks On People’s Character”: Lexie Hull Calls Out How Fan Scrutiny Sometimes Goes Too Far In Emotional Revelation

Lexie Hull has called out fans for going too far with their criticism. Several players have spoken out about online trolling on different occasions. While being a teammate of Caitlin Clark comes with several perks, the guard has revealed a completely different side of the story.

Featuring on Fox News, Hull expressed her honest thoughts on the Indiana Fever getting increased attention after 2024 and highlighted how that has changed fans’ perspectives. She was also asked about the effects of being part of the roster, as she replied:

“There’s just so much scrutiny. People have opinions online, and, unfortunately, that’s part of the job and the role that we play… People need to know that everyone’s human, we’re real people. And I think when things get really personal, there’s personal attack on people’s character, I think that’s where it’s over the line.”

Hull stated that every WNBA team wanted to have a large fanbase and people waiting for them in every part of the country. However, that support also comes with a surge in scrutiny of players on and off the court. Even Clark has talked about the online trolls and how that was a “disservice” to the league.

Caitlin Clark labels Lexie Hull “hot” on latest post

Lexie Hull shared a carousel of images on Instagram, giving a glimpse of her offseason time. She was seen enjoying her time on the beach, vacationing with her fiancé, Will Matthiessen. The post also grabbed the attention of her Fever teammates, as Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston shared their thoughts in the comment section.

    Clark wrote:

“Didn’t know Will also does photography. Amazing news”

In another comment, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year stated:

    “Hot”

    Boston also commented and wrote:

    “Oooooweeeee”

While Kelsey Mitchell is core designated by the Fever during free agency, Aliyah Boston is under the player option for the next season. Clark, on the other hand, might soon get a max contract from the team, as the league approaches the WNBA draft.

Lexie Hull is also a restricted free agent for now, and the Fever has the right to match any offer she receives from other teams in the league. Only time will tell what the original picture of the Fever roster will look like before the 2026 season kicks off.
