Coach Prime’s eldest son Deion Sanders Jr. has been an integral part of the Colorado crew since Deion Sanders took over three years ago.
Bucky has been closely seeing the processes that have been taking place to make things work, including sacrifices from players like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.
During their time at Colorado, both Hunter and Sanders were among the richest college football players, and rather than using all their money for themselves, the duo used their checks to pay for other players’ NIL.
During Deion Sanders Jr.’s Friday conversation on the Mr_Organik YouTube channel, he said:
“Shedeur Sanders was spending his check helping pay other people’s NILs. Him and Travis Hunter. And that’s what a lot of people don’t know,” they would donate their own money that they would get from endorsements, like real NIL’s meant to get real endorsements. Use your name, image, and likeness to get legit, real endorsements. Like you see people on commercials on TV and stuff.”
“So, Travis and Shedeur were some of the only people that had that. You know, you had the Heisman winners who had the Dr. Pepper commercials and stuff, but not a lot of people had real legit NILs,” continued Deion Jr. “Even to this day, a lot of people don’t have that. They just have the school, whatever is behind the donor fund. They just have that, giving the people money.”
Deion Sanders Jr. Opens Up About the Browns Picking Shedeur Sanders
Shedeur Sanders’ NFL Draft slide was among the most dramatic ones in the last few years, as while the former Colorado star was predicted to go as one of the top 10 picks, he ended up sliding to the 5th round and ended up getting picked by the Browns as the 144th overall pick.
Deion Jr. also spoke about how going to the Browns changed Shedeur’s life in terms of going from a rich dad’s kid to dealing with things all Black men deal with.
“Now you are not the rich kid Shedeur anymore. Now you are more relatable. Your life is the message. It’s a blessing. Shout out to the Browns. Great organization.” Deion Sanders Jr. said.
Bucky reminded Shedeur that his life means more than doing dances in front of the Cybertrucks or luxurious cars.
