Late Lady Diana’s elder son, Prince William, dropped a coy hint about whether he and the Princess of Wales, Catherine, will be making the guest list for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s rumored wedding in New York City.
Williams opened up while appearing on the UK’s Heart Breakfast radio show with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden on May 22.
When the hosts directly asked if an official invitation had arrived at Kensington Palace yet, the Prince laughed it off.
“No comment,” he said. “I’m hoping, and I’m sure there might be an invitation around, but we’ll see.”
On the UK’s Heart Breakfast radio show, William also requested to play Swift’s song “Opalite” on air for his kids, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
“Charlotte, my daughter, and Louis, to be fair, Charlotte, particularly, is obsessed by Taylor Swift,” he mentioned.
William attended Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour on June 21, 2024 at Wembley Stadium in London, which was the opening night of her first London leg. It was the eve of his 42nd birthday. He was accompanied by his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
On the UK’s Heart Breakfast radio show, Prince William recalled the concert experience.
“We went to see her on her Eras Tour and it was amazing,” he said. “We were watching from up there, which is quite a long way from where the actual action is happening but the atmosphere was so incredible, you could actually feel the floors shaking when they were all dancing, it was brilliant.”
Reportedly, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will get married on July 13.
Prince William and Travis Kelce’s Fiancée Taylor Swift’s Iconic 2013 Performance with Jon Bon Jovi
It happened when Jon Bon Jovi was performing at the Winter Whites Gala at the 2013 Centrepoint charity gala at Kensington Palace on Nov. 26. The event was hosted by Prince William to benefit homeless youths.
Taylor Swift, who was also attending the gala, convinced a hesitant Prince William to join her and Bon Jovi on stage.
Swift looked William in the eye, touched his arm, and said, “Come on, William. Let’s go and sing.”
Looking back on the night during a Dec. 6, 2021 episode of Apple Fitness+’s Time to Walk, William admitted he was completely off-duty and ready for dinner when Taylor made her move.
“She turns to me,” he said. “She puts her hand on my arm, looks me in the eye, and says, ‘Come on, William. Let’s go and sing.’ To this day, I still do not know what came over me… if Taylor Swift looks you in the eye, touches your arm, and says, ‘Come with me…’ I got up like a puppy and went, ‘Yeah, okay, that seems like a great idea. I’ll follow you.'”
William recalled walking up in a trance and panicking halfway through because he didn’t fully know the lyrics.
On The Graham Norton Show on Oct. 10, 2014, Swift recalled that when Bon Jovi threw out the challenge, William turned to her “freaking out a little bit” and told her, “I don’t remember the words, you’ve got to go with me.”
