Sherrone Moore’s ex-mistress, Paige Shiver, who used to work at Michigan as an assistant, spoke to the media for the first time since the scandal broke out.
It all started with Moore breaking into Shiver’s house and threatening to kill her and himself, a traumatizing incident after which the former Michigan head coach was fired from his job and arrested.
Moore pleaded no contest to two charges in exchange for the more serious charges being dropped, and was sentenced to 18 months of probation along with a $1,000 fine.
Shiver spoke about her situation with Moore and shared that he used his power to keep her in the relationship despite the former Michigan head coach being married and having two kids.
“Here’s a man that had complete control over me, over my emotions, over my career, and he knew that, and he used it. He used it against me,” Shiver said in a clip shared by ESPN on Thursday, April 23.
“Every time I tried to pull away, every time I tried to try and get out of even Michigan, he always had a story. Always had a way to pull me in and make me feel that I couldn’t leave him because he was so miserable without me,” she added.
“He and other coaches had control over my career, especially him. I mean, he could fire me in a second,” Shiver said. “People knew, but no one was doing anything about it.”
Shiver added that people at Michigan knew what Moore was doing to her, and nobody did anything about it, as they cared about winning football games and not having another scandal, aiming to protect the head coach.
Cam Newton Weighs In on Sherrone Moore’s Career After Paige Shiver Scandal
Cam Newton shared his thoughts on Sherrone Moore’s scandal with Paige Shiver after some of the more serious charges were dropped on April 14.
“I would say it’s a good look for his wife to still stick with him through it all. Uh but at the same time, the question now comes, does he get another job?” Newton questioned.
Newton said that while the charges might be dropped, the damage is done for Moore and his family, and predicted that the former Michigan head coach won’t get another job for 1-2 years.
The former Heisman Trophy winner took the incident to remind people to be mindful of the decisions they make, as there’s so much others expect out of you.
