Two-time US Open semi-finalist Frances Tiafoe was all smiles when he received his personalized no-sweat kit from Lululemon for the Indian Wells Open. The kit offers sweat protection with a breathable blend. The kit manufacturers have termed the fabric as “ShowZero.”
“Meet ShowZero™. We made this fabric so you can go all out, with no sweat to show for it, thanks to its sweat-hiding technology. ShowZero™ for Tennis is coming soon,” the caption read on Lululemon’s official announcement Instagram post.
Upon seeing the quality of the yarn used to make the kit, an awestruck Tiafoe said:
“That is nuts. So, this right here is what it used to be, And this is what we sitting on right now. That is nuts, man. That’s crazy. No more sweat, Foe.”
Explaining the thought process and work behind creating the personalized kit for Tiafoe, senior director of design and advanced concept innovation, Yuki Aihara said:
“We knew that Frances was a heavy sweater. And he knew that, however innovative we are, we are not going to stop someone from sweating.”
“It’s a yarn technology that reduces the visibility of sweat. Conventional yarn is a bit translucent, and so when light goes through it, you are seeing that change in color. And because of our technology, light isn’t able to penetrate through the yarns, and that’s how we conceal the visibility of sweat. Just like magic, I guess in a way,” he added.
Tiafoe is currently using his custom kit at Indian Wells, where he has reached the round of 32 after defeating fellow American Jenson Brooksby 6-4, 6-2 in the second round on Friday.
Frances Tiafoe to Face Flavio Cobolli in Round 3 at Indian Wells
Tiafoe will be up against the 15th-seeded Italian, Flavio Cobolli, in the third round of the Indian Wells Open on Sunday. It will be a rematch of the Mexican Open final from last month, where the Italian defeated Tiafoe in straight sets to win the ATP 500 title in Acapulco.
The American leads the head-to-head tie against Cobolli 2-1, with the Acapulco loss being his first against the Italian. The duo met twice on the ATP tour in 2024 and 2025, both times on Tiafoe’s home soil, where he sealed straight-set victories.
The upcoming match is expected to be a feisty affair, with both players carrying positive momentum in the tournament.
