Frances Tiafoe, Alexander Zverev, and other ATP players showcased their style and fashion sense at Indian Wells. In its official news release, the ATP announced a new addition to the Masters 1000 event, an inaugural feature in which top men’s tennis stars will do tunnel walks, similar to those of NBA, WNBA, and other major league athletes.
The ceremony will highlight tennis players’ latest fashion choices at Indian Wells. The first images from the debut pre-game ritual surfaced online, showing some of the top seeds in stylish outfits as they entered the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for practice. The trend is expected to continue throughout the main draw of the event.
Indian Wells is the first ATP Masters 1000 event of the season and the maiden tournament of the Sunshine Swing, which will also feature another Masters 1000 event in Miami starting February 16. Indian Wells is set to feature all the top men’s tennis players, with no official withdrawals from the tournament so far.
Frances Tiafoe, Alexander Zverev, and Other Top Seeds to Begin Their Quest at Indian Wells Soon
Like other top seeds, Zverev, seeded fourth, and Tiafoe, seeded 21st, will play their opening matches at Indian Wells on Friday. Zverev will play Matteo Berrettini in round 2 at court 1, and Tiafoe will be up against fellow American Jenson Brooksby in his round 2 match at court 2.
Both Tiafoe and Zverev will also be featured in the men’s doubles event at Indian Wells. The American will be pairing with Brandon Nakashima for the tournament, while Zverev will be partnering with Brazilian ATP pro Marcelo Melo. The Indian Wells Open is a 12-day tournament that will end next Sunday.
