American tennis star Coco Gauff sang praise about Eileen Gu, who won three medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Gu won gold in women’s halfpipe and silver medals in both big air and slopestyle. Including her medal tally from the Beijing Games, her Olympic medal tally has gone up to six.
In her latest interview with Courtney Nguyen, Gauff opened up about Gu’s almost-perfect kid accomplishments. The two-time Grand Slam champion finds the freestyle skier who graduated from Stanford the kind of person no one would want their parents to know about.
“She speaks so well,” Gauff said. “Obviously she’s super smart. I think she’s one of those people you don’t want your parents to find out about because she’s so accomplished, and they’re, like, ‘What are you doing?’ I could be Grand Slam winner and my mom is, like, ‘She graduated Stanford and did all this stuff.'”
Apart from making history by becoming the first freestyle skier to win three medals at a single Winter Games, Gu enrolled in Stanford in 2022. Her major was in international relations. She has also studied abroad at Oxford University’s Magdalen College. Moreover, she was named one of Time’s 100 most influential people in 2022.
Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka Supports Rage Rooms Concept
Ever since Coco Gauff’s racket-smashing incident at the 2026 Australian Open went viral, players have raised the issue of privacy and the importance of blowing off steam out of the public eye.
In the wake of these incidents and subsequent controversies, the concept of rage rooms has emerged where tennis stars can vent out their frustration without the fear of getting caught on camera. At the ATX Open in Austin, Aryna Sabalenka liked the idea of rage rooms as she told reporters on Tuesday:
“Oh, that’s cool, let’s do that. But I think after me there will be nothing to destroy. I would be there the whole day.”
Even Gauff shared her approval for the same.
“For sure it was inspired by me, I guess. So I’ll take it nicely,” she said. “If I felt like I needed to let go some frustration, I would definitely be in the rage room.”
Both Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff will be next seen in action at Indian Wells where they are among the top five seeds of the tournament and have received a bye in the first round.
