Carlos Alcaraz no longer looks like the dominant seven-time Grand Slam champion, as fans are getting restless over his performance lately. The Spaniard, who suffered a semifinal exit in Indian Wells and an early exit at the Miami Open, made it to the finals of the Monte-Carlo Masters only to lose to Jannik Sinner.
Alcaraz stretched the first set to a tiebreak before conceding it to his biggest rival and World No. 2 Sinner. However, in the next set, Alcaraz looked lackluster as Sinner won it 6-3 and therefore the title match.

Fans across X and Reddit shared their reactions after Sinner’s convincing win over Alcaraz in straight sets. One fan dropped a hilarious video of someone continuously making unforced errors into the net, comparing him to Alcaraz’s recent display.
“Alcaraz looked like a beaten man in that 2nd set. And you don’t say that very often,” one fan wrote.
“Carlos won the career slam and is seemingly in a slump, Sinner lost to Novak and just can’t seem to stop winning since,” one fan added.
“this might be the first time where im actually annoyed about carlos’s attitude on court and his mentality in general,” one fan commented.

Carlos Alcaraz to Prioritize Body Ahead of French Open
Carlos Alcaraz dropped hints on his schedule ahead after the loss in the Monte-Carlo Finals. The Spaniard is unsure regarding his participation in Barcelona, Madrid and Rome ahead of the French Open. The thing is, he wants to keep his body in check to avoid injuries, unlike last season.
“Well, I don’t know, the main goal is to play the full clay season calendar,” he said. “Let’s see how it’s gonna be. It was the goal last year as well, and unfortunately I couldn’t because I was injured.”
“We are touching wood and praying that nothing’s going to happen to my body,” Alcaraz added. “I listen to my body much better than last year, for sure. If I’m gonna skip one, I will skip one tournament. If my body stays healthy, I’m going to do whatever it takes.”
Last year, Alcaraz didn’t participate in Madrid after losing the final in Barcelona. Let’s see what he does this clay season.
