“Controlling & toxic” – Carlos Alcaraz Fans Brutally Slam His Ex-coach Juan Carlos Ferrero After Latest Admission

Carlos Alcaraz parted ways with Juan Carlos Ferrero in December, ending their seven-year partnership. The Spaniard became the youngest-ever World No. 1 under Ferrero’s tutelage and also won six Grand Slams. The split was reportedly due to contractual disputes and differing views.

Months after the split, Ferrero appeared on ICON Spain and said he was at peace watching the tennis prodigy. However, his comments did not sit well with fans, one of whom accused him of taking advantage of Alcaraz and creating unnecessary drama, writing:

“He’s been milking the split for months. He charged Carlos an exorbitant percentage & was absent for most of his 2025 season. He clearly tried to derail Carlos’ AO by whipping up media & still manipulatively yaps to media every two business days about Carlos. Controlling & toxic.”

Another fan called Ferrero’s move of unfollowing the Spaniard immature and wrote:

“Juan Carlos Ferrero unfollowing Carlos Alcaraz on Instagram is the exact sort of immature petty irrelevant drama that I love. Man saw his ex-player flourishing without him and was like “I don’t wanna’ see this shit!”

Here are a few more reactions:

“This is so insane and hilarious. Can Juan Carlos Ferrero just stfu already,” a fan penned.

“Oh yes, Juan Carlos Ferrero is finally ‘at peace’-totally believable!😉,” another fan chimed in.

“We have never seen this guy giving interviews during his worktime. He rarely posted on the IG. Now he gets covers??? Lol,” one of the fans added.

Juan Carlos Ferrero On What Carlos Alcaraz Needs To Do To Excel

Juan Carlos Ferrero also gave Carlos Alcaraz some tips on how to retain the top spot on the ATP Tour. He suggested that the young Spaniard needs to stay motivated.

“What he needs to do is keep his motivation intact,” Ferrero explained. “He needs to stay motivated when he’s achieving all the goals he’s set for himself, and then, when his motivation isn’t at 100%, professional discipline has to kick in.

“I think Carlos will stay motivated because he knows he has some very important players ahead of him, players who have achieved great success, and he wants to be one of them. I don’t see any reason to think his motivation will drop in the short term, and I hope he stays at this level for a long time because he’ll have opportunities to win major titles.”

Alcaraz is hoping to defend his Monte-Carlo Masters title.
