“I Spit My Coffee Out” – Bianca Andreescu’s Shocking Miss Stuns Fans In Canada Vs Kazakhstan Billie Jean King Cup qualifier

Bianca Andreescu lost hilariously against Yulia Putintseva in the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers. Fans made sure to mention two-time Grand Slam champion Coco Gauff, whose serving troubles are well-known.

On Saturday, Andreescu’s match went to a third-set tiebreak. Trailing 4-6, the Canadian faulted on her first serve, followed by a wayward second serve, resulting in a double fault and the end of the match altogether. With Andreescu’s 7-6(5), 3-6, 7-6(4) loss, Canada lost the tie 3-1, sending Kazakhstan to the BJK Cup Finals in September.

Fans reacted to the moment hilariously, with several name-dropping Gauff as well.

“This a Coco Gauff type of second serve,” one fan wrote.

“She and Coco are having a serve-clown off,” another wrote.

“I spit my coffee out watching live,” one fan said.

“This is why we should never put doubles before eventual singles matches. She had to play a full singles match after a 90 minutes one in doubles minutes earlier, it’s a miracle she didn’t get injured too. This format is incredibly dumb and potentially dangerous,” one fan added.

“I would have to kill myself,” another commented.

“The worst double fault (considering the timing) of all time?” another fan asked.

“Hahahahahahaha, it turned out a bit off,” one fan reacted.

“Had to watch it a second time to see where the ball went,” another remarked.

“This is actually so f**king embarrassing, wow🫩” one fan added.

Earlier in the tie, Yulia Putintseva defeated Kayla Cross 6-3, 7-5 to give Kazakhstan 1-0 lead. Bianca Andreescu tied it after winning 6-4, 7-6(4) against Sonja Zhiyenbayeva. Kazakhstan scored a decisive victory in the doubles as Anna Danilina/Zhibek Kulambayeva defeated Andreescu/Kayla Cross 7-5, 6-1.

Finally, Andreescu fumbled badly under pressure, eliminating Canada from the tournament. Putintseva was the MVP of the tie as she won both her singles matches. Despite the elimination, Andreescu enjoyed the qualifiers.

“I’m really proud of the way I played and how we showed up as a team. We did everything we could. Marie-Eve was with us the whole way, and the team supported us throughout. I really enjoyed the week — and sometimes, that’s tennis,” she said.

Bianca Andreescu Secured First WTA Win in 8 Months

Bianca Andreescu finally won a WTA match after eight months when she defeated Dalma Gálfi in three sets in the first round of the 2026 Charleston Open. With the win, she snapped her five-game losing streak in this period.

“At the end of the day, it’s the effort that counts for me,” she said.

However, Andreescu was defeated in the second round against America’s Sofia Kenin, 6-4, 6-4. Her latest loss in the BJK Cup adds to her struggles on the court. It remains to be seen if Andreescu comes back stronger in her next tournament.
