Billie Jean King Cup Finals List: Every Nation Qualified & The Biggest Weekend Upsets

The Billie Jean King Cup is all set to step into the finals after a terrific showdown in the qualifiers. The battle for the trophy will take place from September 22 to 27, in Shenzhen, China. Just like last year, China is again hosting the tournament, and Italy has qualified for the finals as the defending champion and will be aiming for its third consecutive title.

16 teams competed for the spot in the finals in April, and after stunning clashes, seven teams have made their way to the final round. Belgium, Ukraine, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Spain, and the Czech Republic have punched their tickets to the finals with Italy and China.

Belgium got the better of the 18-time champion, the USA, to secure a spot in the finals on Saturday. The qualification was finalized after Belgium’s Greet Minnen triumphed over the American Iva Jovic, claiming a 7-5, 6-3 win and booking a spot for her team in the finals for the first time since 2022.

Ukraine progressed to the finals after besting Poland 3-0 in the qualifying round. On Day 1, Marta Kostyuk and Elina Svitolina won the singles over their Ukrainian opponents, gaining a 2-0 lead. On Day 2, Liudmyla and Madia Kichenok won the doubles match.

Great Britain booked a place in the finals after earning a stellar 3-1 victory over Australia in the qualifying round at the John Cain Arena. On the first day, 17-year-old debutant Mika Stojsavljevic produced a staunch performance over Talia Gibson, and Harriet Dart bested Kimberly Birrell to secure a 2-0 lead over the Australian. This marked their third consecutive year to reach the Great Britain finals.

Kazakhstan qualified for the finals after Yulia Putintseva won both her singles matches. She first got the better of Kayla Cross and then defeated Bianca Andreescu in the singles match. The doubles match was the deciding point for the nation after Anna Danilina and Zhibek Kulambayeva won against Andreescu and Cross.

Spain booked a place in the finals after defeating Slovenia 3-1 in the qualifying round at Portoroz. The Czech Republic advanced to the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup Finals by overpowering Switzerland 3-2. After both nations reached a tie of 2-2, the tiebreaker was won by Czech player Marie Bouzkova over Viktorija Golubic with a 7-6(4), 6-3 win.
