No matter what Coco Gauff does, her serving troubles are far from over. Even after hiring a serve specialist, she hasn’t been able to improve and her performance is deteriorating on the court.
The top-ranked American star faced No. 44 Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the second round of the 2026 Miami Open. Even though she won the match in three sets, she committed 11 double faults.
There was also one moment in the game when she served so badly that it was high up in the air, landing well outside the court.
This became a fodder for the fans to react as they called out Gauff for her serving troubles.
“I’m really getting sick of you,” one fan wrote.
“She so a** idc what anyone says lol,” another fan added.
“Oh man I’ve never seen one that ugly,” one fan reacted.
“coco can’t serve for shit,” one fan commented.
“If you ever feel useless think about fact that you could be Coco Gauff biomechanist or Iga Swiatek sports psychologist,” one fan joked.
“I just saw myself on that when I had training and I tried to serve 😭💀,” one fan wrote.
Coco Gauff Updates About Her Arm Injury
Coco Gauff chose to retire from her fourth-round match at Indian Wells, citing a left forearm injury. She was down a set and was trailing by 2-0 in the second set against Alexandra Eala.
She underwent an MRI and it suggested no structural damage, allowing her to participate in the home tournament.
“I think it was a nerve thing, like I said immediately after the match,’’ Gauff told reporters. “The MRI was nothing shown. It was the first time I had to take an MRI. It felt like that’s what a coffin would look like. It was very weird. I hope I don’t have to go in one of those again.’’
Gauff thought about skipping the event, but since it was a premier home tournament, she chose to participate even though she was not 100% healthy.
“Every day Is different,’’ Gauff said. “For the most part, I feel I’ll be fine playing this tournament. I might feel it sometimes on court but I feel it less and less every day. My goal was to play the tournament. There was a thought of skipping it. If it wasn’t Miami, I probably would have skipped it. But I really wanted to play.’’
After winning the second round, Gauff will face Alycia Parks next in the Miami Open.
