Who Is Ted Carter Jr.’s Wife Lynda? All We Know About Ex-Ohio State President’s Partner Amid Shocking Resignation

The Ohio State University president Ted Carter Jr. announced the shocking news of his resignation on Monday after reportedly informing the board of trustees about an inappropriate relationship.
According to the university’s release, Carter Jr. acknowledged being involved in an inappropriate relationship with a woman who was seeking public resources to support her business. The disclosure ultimately led to his decision to step down from his position.
Carter Jr. has been married for more than 40 years to his wife, Lynda Carter, with whom he shares two children, Brittany and Christopher.
Lynda has been a major source of support throughout Carter Jr.’s career and was even known as the “First Lady” during his time at the University of Nebraska.
In 2019, Lynda received the Distinguished Public Service Award from the Secretary of the Navy for her contributions to the Naval Academy. As a military spouse, she was deeply involved in numerous military organizations, events, and activities.
The couple moved to Nebraska in 2020 when Ted Carter began his role as the University’s president.
“Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Lynda Kohlhepp met her future husband, Ted Carter, in 1979 on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Academy at a hockey game. He was one of the hockey players and a U.S. Naval Academy midshipman. She was studying at the University of Maryland. They married three years later in 1982, a year after Ted graduated from the Naval Academy and the year Lynda graduated from Maryland with a degree in sociology and statistics.

During their 38 years of service in the U.S. Navy, Ted and Lynda moved over 20 different times, including two moves to Japan. They most recently lived in Annapolis, Maryland during Carter’s tenure as superintendent of his alma mater, the U.S. Naval Academy,” University of Nebraska wrote about their “First Lady”

In Lynda’s free time she likes to cook, entertain, garden, travel and stay in touch with her friends from all across the country.
