Taylen Green had a couple of standout seasons as the Arkansas Razorbacks’ quarterback in Fayetteville. While his first season was full of promise, with a first half in which the Hogs looked like one of the better offenses in the SEC, 2025 was an incredible disappointment. The fairly positive 7-6 record and Liberty Bowl victory in 2024 were followed by a 2-10 record in 2025. Long gone are his two winning seasons at Boise State.
Yet, it has to be recognized that he’s one of the most mobile and athletic signal-callers in the 2026 NFL Draft. A few teams will be looking at him through rounds five and six for that reason alone. Here are a few options for him.
Top 3 Potential Landing Spots for Taylen Green
#3 Green Bay Packers
Through two seasons at Fayetteville, Taylen Green proved he’s an extraordinary athlete. That means that he’s highly athletic, not that he’s a top quarterback. The raw potential is there, even if the play level isn’t.
This fits well with Green Bay’s approach to backup quarterbacks, with highly athletic quarterbacks serving as backups to Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love under Matt LaFleur. This is a role Green could fill in perfectly well, although nobody would want him to start for more than a couple of games before his weaknesses start to show.
#2 Philadelphia Eagles
This is considered potentially the best fit in the NFL for Taylen Green’s style of play. His mobility fits the offense of the Eagles, as he’s seen as similar in build and style of play to their starter, Jalen Hurts.
Yes, he’s no Jalen Hurts, but having him on the roster would allow the team to basically play the same kind of game whenever their starter is not available. It also offers a good opportunity for Green to develop in an offensive unit that is tailored, if indirectly, to his style of play.
#1 Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are considered to be directly targeting Taylen Green, having invited him to an official top-30 pre-draft visit. They’re also the team in the list with the biggest need to draft a quarterback that they can develop into a starter down the road, as Aaron Rodgers is clearly near the end of his career.
It isn’t even certain that he will return, as the situation is considered 50-50, and this will likely affect the Steelers’ NFL Draft strategy, as it’s unlikely that anyone considers Taylen Green pro-ready, but if he wants to eventually be a starter, Pittsburgh is the best bet for the Arkansas quarterback.
