Sonny Styles joined the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2022. In his four-year run, Styles established himself as one of the best linebackers in college football. He won the CFP national title with the Buckeyes in 2024.
The following year, he made the First-team All-American and First-team All-Big Ten. Now, Styles is on the verge of realizing his NFL dream. He is one of the most sought-after linebackers in his draft class.
During his college career, Styles capitalized on his star power as well. Even though the exact valuation of his NIL deals is not publicly available, a look at his social media profile details all you’d want to know about his brand value.
He is recognized as a high-value athlete in the NIL landscape and has partnered with major brands such as New Era, Powerade, and more. His social media presence, with over 84k followers on Instagram alone, also adds a lot of value to his name.
Styles is now aiming for a top 10 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4, 243-pound has proved that he’s worth the hype during his college career. He has left a great impression on teams at the NFL Draft Combine.
Sonny Styles is Ready to Make a Difference
Despite being a heavy favorite to be a top 10 pick, Styles isn’t worried about the specific details. He believes that he will be able to make a difference regardless of his draft position. All he needs is an opportunity.
“What pick I go, I do believe I can make a difference,” he said. “Whatever club I get to, figure out what my role is and be a champion at that role.”
Styles has the right frame to be a world-class player, but the biggest strength he possesses is his game IQ. He said that he will prove the same when he is given that opportunity in the NFL by the team that picks him.
“I want to show [teams] I’m an intelligent football player,” he said. “I’m not just a guy just out there running and hitting. That’s part of the game too, but you have to be a smart football player, especially in the NFL.”
Styles has garnered interest from several teams, and the New York Giants stand out from that lot. He had a great meeting with head coach John Harbaugh.
“That meeting was awesome,” Styles said. “Coach [John] Harbaugh was great; coach [Frank] Bush was great.”
His biggest competition at the linebacker position is Arvell Reese, Styles’ teammate from the Ohio State Buckeyes.
