Usain Bolt has conquered the world of track and field, but the sprint legend has now found a new sporting passion. The eight-time Olympic gold medalist recently opened up about his growing love for the WNBA, revealing that his newfound fandom began thanks to his girlfriend, Kasi Bennett.
Bolt was recently spotted at the Breeze BC face-off against Hive BC, where he was supporting Bueckers and her team. While talking to TNT Sports during the WNBA match, he admitted that attending the game was initially his girlfriend’s idea. After accompanying her to multiple matchups and experiencing the electric atmosphere firsthand, the Jamaican icon became hooked.
The world-record holder also spoke about Beuckers being his favorite player, and opening up about his experience of attending the game, he said:
“Yes, this is my first time. It’s good. I don’t want to take all the credit from my girlfriend. She’s been here like 4 times, so she’s been telling me about it. So I should come. So I was like, you know what? I’m gonna pass through because I see the energy, and she loves it, so I’m here,” said Usain Bolt.
He further enthusiastically confirmed his admiration and revealed that he and his girlfriend support the Dallas Wings and have attended several of their games. He revealed that the couple plans to purchase season tickets this season so they can follow the team more closely.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m definitely a fan. We actually support Dallas. You know, maybe been to a few games in Dallas. We actually are getting season tickets this season, so I’m looking forward to seeing much more games.”
The match between Breeze and Hive was eventually won by the latter.
