The duo made their relationship public in 2024 and made their first appearance together at the USATF Night of Legends. They were recently involved in a controversy, where Richardson was seen pushing him at the Seattle-Tacoma airport and was then arrested for a day. However, she later issued an apology for her boyfriend.

The 2025 season did not turn out as expected for Richardson, as she faced multiple losses in elite competitions, including most of the Diamond League meets. She was last seen in action at the World Championships 2025 in Tokyo, where she won a gold medal in the women’s 4x100m relay.

The American also ran in the 100m race in the championships, where she secured a fifth-place finish after recording 10.94s. Similarly, Coleman also witnessed a shaky season last year, winning only one gold medal in the 100m at the Zurich Diamond League.

Sha’Carri Richardson made her feelings known about her mindset for the 2026 track season

While preparing for the 2026 season, Sha’Carri Richardson recently sat for an interview with Athlos and shared her thoughts for the 2026 season. Exuding excitement about her appearance on the track, she said that she will do something ‘legendary.’ Along with this, she also spoke about proving her worth in front of the world.

“Okay, honestly for myself, I’m super excited for this season because I have a feeling that it’s going to be something legendary. Not legendary just on the track, but legendary as the woman that I have been designed to be,” Sha’Carri Richardson said.

Exuding confidence in herself, she added:

“And I’m super excited to actually take on the challenge to do that in front of the world. Not allow the world to make me shield myself, but to truly walk and embrace and stand firm in everything I know I’ve been working on.”

Talking about the Athlos NYC meet and of what significance it is for women, she further added:

“Athlos is a safe haven when it comes to women’s sports. Athlos is at the foundation of the belief that we all feel inside of us, but actually creating the space to display it. And Athlos is going to continue to grow. Athlos is going to continue to get bigger, bigger, and better.”
