Sean Strickland Fires Back at Khamzat Chimaev After Being Mocked in Viral Sheep Onesie Meme Ahead of UFC 328 bout

Sean Strickland delivered a fierce response to Khamzat Chimaev’s latest online jab. The latter recently trolled him with a meme, showing him in a sheep onesie, announcing their upcoming bout at UFC 328.

Strickland’s latest outing on the mat was on February 21, at the UFC Fight Night, which was also his opening match of the season. The event took place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, where he locked horns with Anthony Hernandez. He produced a staunch performance, registering a win by TKO (punches) at 2:33 in the third round of the clash.

He is now all set to face Chimaev in the UFC Middleweight Championship. The latter hasn’t opened his 2026 season yet and was last seen in action in August 2025, during the UFC Middleweight Championship. He bested Dricus du Plessis in UFC 319 to claim the championship title. The UFC world is now eagerly waiting to witness the bout between Strickland and Chimaev, as their rivalry has been making rounds all over the internet.

Their match is scheduled to take place on May 9 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Shortly ahead of this matchup, the UFC middleweight champion mocked Strickland by sharing a poster for their upcoming match, where he presented himself as a wolf and showed his opponent in a sheep onesie.

This meme quickly went viral and triggered Strickland. The latter didn’t sit quietly, lashing back with another meme on X. He posted an edited picture with the setup of the TV show ‘To Catch a Predator,’ where the host asks the suspect to ‘have a seat’ before interrogating them.

Editing his picture as the interrogator and with the goat on the table in the meme, he mocked the hype of Chimaev being called the goat. The tweet’s caption read:

    “It’s not even AI…..”

Sean Strickland responds to Khamzat Chimaev’s threat of killing him in a street fight

Khamzat Chimaev issued a controversial comment during his conversation with MMA Fighting, stating that he cannot kill Sean Strickland on the mat as it is against the sport; however, he cannot guarantee what would happen if they met on the street.

This comment triggered Strickland, who delivered a sharp reply shortly after the interview made rounds on the internet. Stating that he is the last person Chimaev should threaten, he said:

“I’m like the last dude in America you should threaten. But I guess if you don’t show up, you don’t show up.”

He revealed that after coming across the interview, he had been dropping his locations on Instagram to lure out his upcoming opponent for the street confrontation; however, there was no response from the other end.

“I generally don’t post my location or my whereabouts. I don’t really drop pins where I’m at, I just don’t like to. But I was on Instagram, and some stupid shit popped up in my feed about Chimaev saying you try to fight me, you’ll kill me in the streets. Dude, I was, like, 10 minutes from your gym. I was dropping tags and locations all day on my Instagram. Your homies that train with you follow me; they were seeing my story. You had to know where I was at,” he said.

Sean Strickland has won two major championship titles in his pro MMA career, including the UFC Middleweight champion in 2023-24 and the King of the Cage Middleweight champion in 2012.
