American track and field champion Noah Lyles has garnered enormous backlash since his comments about his wife Junelle Bromfield’s wedding dress. Critics have pointed out how his reaction underwhelmed his emotional response during their actual ceremony, and some even scrutinized him for lacking immediate praise.
Sprinting star Noah Lyles and Jamaica’s Junelle Bromfield tied the knot in a stylish Trenton, Georgia, ceremony on 4 April. The event was themed as “All Shades of Melanin,” which highlights and gives significant importance to their shared black heritage.
Recently, a photographic feature posted a video, featuring Bromfield in her wedding dress, taking a stroll through a set when Lyles dropped a stoic reaction, hinting at the material of the dress.
“Oh wow, okay. I didn’t think you would go with a princess dress. I didn’t. Yeah, this is good.”Dang, that’s a train—and we’re supposed to spin in this?” said Lyles immediately after turning back to see Bromfield’s dress.
This hasn’t been lauded by fans online, as many have now lambasted the Olympic champion for his naive take on his wife’s newlywed stint.
