Mondo Duplantis Opens Up About His World Record at Mondo Classic

After his ravishing win at the Mondo Classic, Mondo Duplantis made his feelings known about his new world record. Speaking to the media after his performance, he shared a message for his opponents, saying that if they compete with him in Sweden, it will be harder for them to win.

Revealing that he was going through a lot of emotions, including the pressure of performing, he said:

“If you come to Sweden to compete against me, it will be even harder to beat me. There are a lot of emotions right now. There was a little extra pressure because I wanted to perform in a different way. Setting a world record here was actually incredible. This is my home. Every time I stand on the track, I represent you and feel such pride to jump for you and Sweden.”

Mondo Duplantis’ last world record came at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September 2025, where he took a leap of 6.30m. His journey of dominance began in February 2020 at the Copernicus Cup in Torun, Poland.
