Jordan Chiles Stays No. 1 As UCLA Gymnastics Draws Record-Breaking Crowds at Every 2026 Away Meet

Jordan Chiles is ruling over the 2026 NCAA gymnastics championships, as she has remained the No. 1 since the beginning of the event. Along with this, her team, the UCLA gymnastics team, has enjoyed record-breaking crowds in all its away games this season.

Chiles’ strong performances and growing popularity have made UCLA one of the biggest draws in college gymnastics. Her most recent outing was on February 22 against Illinois at the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois. Her team delivered a commanding performance, recording a 197.675 – 195.475 win.

The Olympic gymnast played a pivotal role in the victory by winning multiple events, including the all-around, where she scored 39.650; vault with an impressive 9.950; and floor exercise with another stunning 9.975. Overall, the Bruins registered a season-high 49.450 on vault and attained 49.500, 49.475, and 49.250 on floor, beam, and bars, respectively.

Following this notable clash, Chiles once again won the Big Ten Conference Gymnast of the Week, maintaining her position as No. 1. She started her 2026 NCAA run on January 3, and since then, she has won this honor every week. She is ranked No. 1 in the all-around and floor. Every routine she has delivered this season has scored 9.800 or higher.

In addition to Chiles’ achievements, every away meet that the Bruins have attended this season has witnessed a record-breaking attendance or had to be moved to a larger arena.

Jordan Chiles Opened Up About the Collapse After Perfect Score on Floor Against Michigan

The UCLA Bruins locked horns with Michigan on February 14 at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, where Jordan Chiles delivered a stunning performance, recording a perfect 10 in the floor exercise. This was her fourth consecutive perfect 10 on floor, and it came while she was not well. Following the performance, Chiles collapsed on the floor.

Questioning her about the collapse, one of the reporters in the post-meet press conference asked her how it felt to score another 10.00 and how she keeps doing it. Responding to this, she revealed that she was sick and couldn’t practice much, and collapsed on the floor after the performance with a sense of relief that it was over.

“I can tell you that today, all of my energy definitely came from my team. I’ve been sick this last week. I was definitely under the weather, and I didn’t really get to practice much. So, I’m just very proud and happy that I was able to come out here and do it for the team, and no matter the scores, no matter, you know, it’s all about the energy that we gave,” said Jordan Chiles (0:14 onwards).
    She added:
“So, I was just, you know, that collapse was like relief. Like, man, like I, you know, it’s just like I keep doing it over and over again. And it’s, you know, not every routine made I think that, you know, it’s perfect in my head, but to the judges, it’s perfect to them. So, it just means everything. And I just keep stacking them. That was my goal, right? I literally said I want to break the record, so I’m just going to keep doing as best as I can.”

Jordan Chiles and her team’s next showdown is on February 27 against Iowa at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.
