“You Shut All Our Mouths” – Mikaela Shiffrin’s Fiancé Aleksander Kilde Shares a Powerful Message After Her Gold at the Winter Olympics 2026

Mikaela Shiffrin stunned the sporting world with her remarkable comeback at the 2026 Winter Olympics. She proved her billing by winning an Olympic gold medal after eight years. Following this feat, she received a heartfelt message from her fiancé, Aleksander Kilde, who lauded her for the most anticipated victory.

After a series of disappointing outcomes at the Milan-Cortina, Shiffrin finally stood atop the podium on February 18 in the slalom event. She recorded a combined time of 1:39.10 to secure the top position. Trailing behind her were Swiss skier Camille Rast and Swedish skier Anna Swenn Larsson, who clocked 1:40.60 and 1:40.81, respectively.

Her fiancé, Kilde, did not waste time appreciating his long-time partner for her dominant win. Taking to Instagram, he posted multiple pictures of the American on the slopes and also shared a loving picture of them. Along with this, he penned a powerful message in the caption, highlighting Shiffrin’s hard work for claiming the gold medal.

“Mikaela, what you did today shows that your mental strength is out of this world.
Four years ago you left the Olympics with more questions than answers. Today, you answered every single one. You shut all our mouths and showed the world who the queen is👑” wrote Kilde.

    He added:

“I’ve seen all the work you’ve put in both physically and mentally over the last years – you are my biggest inspiration and I’m a proud fiancé to say it at least.
    I love you ❤️”

Overwhelmed with the gesture, Shiffrin quickly reacted to this post by reposting it on her Instagram story. She penned four emojis that read:

    “🥹😭❤️🫶🏻”

Mikaela Shiffrin Opened up About Accepting her Father’s Death After Winning a Gold Medal at The 2026 Winter Olympics

After her commanding performance in the slalom event at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Mikaela Shiffrin sat for a press conference, where she addressed her father, Jeff Shiffrin’s death. In a conversation with People, she said that it is the first time she could actually accept the passing of her father.

Expressing her feelings about the triumph, she wrote:

“This was a moment I have dreamed about. I’ve also been very scared of this moment. Everything in life that you do after you lose someone you love is like a new experience. It’s like being born again, and I still have so many moments where I resist this. I don’t want to be in life without my dad. Maybe today was the first time I could actually accept this reality. And instead of thinking I would be going in this moment without him, to take the moment to be silent with him,” said Mikaela Shiffrin.

Mikaela Shiffrin also competed in the women’s combined team event with her teammate Breezy Johnson and in the giant slalom event. However, she fell short of earning podium finishes in both events.
